Thames Bawley - Jacqueline

May 2000

This is 'Jacqueline' a loose footed, gaff rigged Harwich Bawley.

She is 35 feet on deck and was built by Frost and Drake at Tollesbury, Essex in 1949 as a motor fishing boat before being converted to sail 1991.

We found her pretty much abandoned in the Walton Backwaters, contacted her owners, bought her and took her to barndy Hole on the River Crouch where we stripped her back to bare timbers and refinished her in a new livery of cream and green.

Her interior was also refurbished, echoing her exterior colours.
