Suzuki Bandit 1200
Click here for full list of mods

This was my Bandit Twelve bought new in Sept99. As you can see from Fido Dido on the home page, to my mind "Normal's Boring" so I promptly set about modding it. The Peugeot Speedfighter fairing has twin Halfords oval spots mounted inside the headlamps for dipped beam and a further pair hung underneath for main beam.
The standard bars have been changed for gold anodised Drag Bars* mounted on inch and a half polished ally risers.
The clutch & brake levers are carbon look and mini indicators replace the standard items
*later changed to Renthals

The paintwork was applied by myself and is candy red over silver and red candy lacquer over gold with the graphics stenciled in using the 'Aladdin' font
Wheels are sprayed with a red candy stained lacquer over a gold base, fading out from hub to rim

The rearsets are
fully adjustable gold anodised items from Harris Performance complete with carbon fibre heel plates.
The engine & fuel cap bolts have are gold anodised items from Mr. Fastener. The engine fins have also been filed and polished.

The seat is from Bum Wraps and is lowered by an inch and three quarters with further reshaping in the pillion area. I also have the original.
The pillion pegs are MFW items, the belly pan is from Pyramid Plastics and the can is a Micron round carbon

The 2 inch airbox mod has been carried out and the main jets have been changed from
112.5's to 127.5's with the needles lifted to their highest position.

The front forks have been fitted with Hagon progressive fork springs
One of the highlights of owning this bike has been discovering the Suzuki UK Bandit Owners Group (SUKBOG) on the web. A collection of great guys ("unisex term", say's he, ducking....#:0) who go out of there way to be friendly, helpful and sociable. Hopefully I will get to meet many more of you in person in the future.

Speedfighter Goes Naked
(well nearly)
The smoked fairing can be removed in minutes for the completly naked look or the Speedfighter fairing can be refitted in approximately 90 minutes.

Also, acknowledgment is due to Frank Barrow of Motorcycle Bodywork's (Northwich), for it was seeing his B12 featured in the Bandit edition of Streetfighters (September 99) that gave me the inspiration for mine. It took six different coats of paint in various combinations to achieve the finish on my bike, god knows how much time and effort it took him to achieve this.
Gorgeous innit !
